This week is especially aimed at the participation of undergraduate/graduate students and young health professionals with an interest in global health and development issues. To foster an interdisciplinary exchange, we welcome all students in humanities and medicine as well as young physicians, or professionals of other fields, who have gained initial experiences in global health and would like to contribute in their professional or educational work to better health for all. The number of participants is limited to 25-30.
NB: The global health summer school organising team realises that the participation fee represents a significant amount in economically uncertain times. If you are worried that you are not able to attend due to financial reasons, please get in touch with us.
Students: 220 Euro (incl. 80 Euros for meals)
Professionals (with regular income): 390 Euros (incl. 80 Euros for meals)
IPPNW members: 140 Euro (incl. 80 Euros for meals)
Please get in touch with us if you want to become a member of IPPNW or find more information here.
The course fee includes participation in all events, lunch and drinks during the day. It does not include accommodation costs, transportation and additional living expenses.
We have reserved beds in the guest house of the venue. These are four or six bed dormitories with shared bathroom and kitchen, there is also an opportunity to barbecue in the garden. They cost 21€ per person per night. Please indicate in your application if you would like to book accommodation.
Applicants that are facing financial insecurity and/or are from low and middle income countries can apply for a reduced course fee. Please get in touch if this applies to you.
Unfortunately, we can not award travel or accommodation grants.
We hope, that the pandemic will abate further by this summer and will allow for the global health summer school to take place in person in Berlin. We have developed a detailed hygiene and prevention concept which was used successfully during the summer school in 2021. However, digital formats will form part of the programme and we will also try to make designated lectures available online. An online participation during the entire course is unfortunately not possible.
