We are currently looking for an intern for our Global Health Summer programme at the German IPPNW office in Berlin.

IPPNW Germany was founded forty years ago as a federation of medical organisations for the prevention of nuclear war during the Cold War. Since then, the organisation has worked to avert threats to life and health by organising events, actions and campaigns, and promotes activism in the areas of nuclear disarmament and nuclear energy, peace and social responsibility. Starting date: June 1st, 2022
Duration: flexible, min. 2 months in full time (ideally June 1st to August 5th) with an expense allowance of 450 €/month for mandatory internships
Tasks:
· Administrative and organisational support of the project team
· Communication with global health summer school participants and speakers
· Research on global health and economisation, ethics and the pandemic
· Assisting the preparation of background material for the global health summer school
· General support for other projects in the social responsibility department (Working group on seeking refuge & asylum, practice and engage programme etc.)
· Support for follow-up after the summer school (accounting, reporting, management of the alumni network, etc.)
What we are looking for
• Knowledge of and/or interest in global health topics
• Very good written and spoken English
• Strong communication skills, intercultural competence and ability to take initiative
• Enjoy writing, co-writing and editing of texts
• Good computer skills
• Identification with the goals of IPPNW
• Initial experience in event management and a high sense of responsibility
For those who are interested and do not have to complete a mandatory internship for their studies, there may also be the possibility to work voluntarily and receive an allowance (max. 840 Euro by law).
